The following is a list of
the services that the Greater Cincinnati Insurance Board provides for its
members.
Pre-licensing
Education: Both Classroon and Self Study courses are offered.
Monthly Classroom course for Property/Casualty and Life/Health are
available and are approved by both the Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky
Insurance Departments.
Continuing Education Seminars:
The CIB regularly holds educational seminars at intervals which are
designed to be convenient for both principals and staff, and which educate
participants in a variety of insurance topics both practical and technical. They
are filed for continuing education credit in both Ohio, and Kentucky. We
can file for Indiana credit with prior notice. We also offer in-house programs
for our members.
Exam Monitoring
Service: We are an approved test monitoring site for: The National
Underwriter, The Insurance Institute of America, and Noble, Inc. and Exam
Simulator and ExamFX.
Resource Center: The CIB keeps on
hand material for members' use. This includes such material as Best's Key Rating
Guide; Agency Management Manuals; Merritt Manuals; Excess and Surplus
Lines Manuals; Kentucky insurance laws; Ohio and Kentucky Motor Vehicle Laws,
National Flood Insurance Program and others.
Community Relations: Intended for the general public, members,
and both print and electronic media. Our staff handles calls ranging from
requests for the address of the Department of Insurance, to questions on where
to file a claim. We work with the media and local public agencies to promote a
positive image for the insurance industry.
MVR Service: Available to CIB members and to non-members for
a service fee, this allows members to order automated motor vehicle reports
through the CIB on a fax-back basis.
Legislative
Liaison: The CIB monitors legislation at the local, state, and national
levels that might effect the insurance industry. We keep legislators informed of
our members' position on various legislation.
Other Associations: The CIB maintains an on-going interactive
relationship with other industry organizations, such as CPCU, IIAA, NAIW, OII,
PIA, RES as well as other associations in the Greater Cincinnati area.
Cincinnati Insurance Festival: The CIB, along with
CPCU sponsors Cincinnati's annual Cincinnati Insurnace Festival, well known as
one of the premier events of its kind in the industry.
Employment
Services:
a) Resume Exchange Service. This service is available to members only. We
maintain a file of resumes for those seeking employment in the insurance
industry. We will send copies of these resumes to members when requested.
b) Resume Collection Service. When advertising for
employees, you may have them sent to the CIB. We will then forward them to you.
Free to members.
c) The Omnia
Group provides personality profiling, employee handbooks, employee
background checks.
Ohio Group Workers Compensation Programs: Through
special arrangement with the PIA of Ohio, our members and their clients have
access to CompManagements group rated worker's compensation programs.
Participants regularly save 40% to 90% on their worker's compensation
premiums.
Errors
and Ommissions Insurance: Through special arrangement with the PIA of
Ohio, our member have access to Errors and Ommissions insurance and other
agent services offered by the PIA of Ohio. (Click here for a

Our programs offer quality and meaningful insurance
training. These programs are taught by insurance training professionals and are
designed for all insurance agents and personnel working in the insurance
industry. Our programs are approved in Ohio, Kentucky and
Indiana.

Resume Exchange Service
(confidential)
This is an informal resume exchange program.
Individuals seeking employment in the insurance industry are encouraged to
send their resumes to the CIB. The staff at the CIB will categorize the resume
as "sales" or "other". When a member agency is looking to fill a position,
they can call the CIB and we will send them copies of the appropriate résumé's
we have on file. The board does not screen the candidates or try to match the
person to the appropriate positions, it simply sends copies of recent résumé's
to a member upon request. This service is free to members and not available to
non-members. These resume's are not be posted on the
Internet.

Post
If you wish you can post your resume' on our Website
so that it can be viewed by our members. (Click here). This is a free
service. For a member to view the Resume Post, go to the
Members Only section
of this Internet site.
Resume
Collection Service
Often an agency when advertising for employees in
the newspaper wishes to remain anonymous. You can use the newspaper's post
office box, but this can be expensive. The CIB will provide this service free
to members.
Before you place an ad, call the CIB to receive a
unique "department number". When you place the ad have the applicants send
their résumé's to the "department number" at the CIB. As the Board receives
the résumé's, we will forward them to you.
Personality Profiling
The CIB recommends using The Omnia Profile® when you
need to quickly identify the most compatible job candidates or pinpoint ways
to increase the effectiveness of your current staff members. (Click here for more

The CIB’s MVR service gives you a quick, fast and
easy way to get Ohio motor vehicle reports.
Call or fax us the necessary information, then we
order the MVR and fax it back to you.

We are
an approved test monitoring site for Able Incorporated's Exam Simulator
and ExamFX products. Tests can be scheduled between 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
weekdays. Monitoring fee is $35.00, membrs $25.00. There is no monitoring
fee if Exam Simulator PASS Textbook and ExamFX is purchased from the CIB.
