Anyone licensed on or after July 1, 1999 must have the requirements met by June 30, 2002. Ohio Law requires every licensed insurance agent to complete at least twenty credit hours of approved continuing education courses every two years. This is how you determine your compliance period.Licensees who were issued licenses prior to January 1, 1994 are required to complete their CE by December 31, in odd numbered years, i.e., 1995, 1997, 1999, 2001, 2003, etc.
Licensees who were issued licenses on or after January 1, 1994 begin their two year compliance period on January 1st of the next year after issuance. The compliance period ends on December 31st of the second year after the year of issuance. An example is, you were licensed on July 1, 1998. The compliance period starts January 1, 1999 and ends December 31, 2000.
